i loaded ms on my laptop, and tried to run it. the patches downloaded but when the game tried to start, it just popped up a message that said "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D."

I have a Dell Inspiron 1200 with an Intel celeron mobile

i went to dell.com and downloaded the newest graphics driver, and chipset.

i rebooted and started ms again, and the same message pops up.

i betcha theres other people with this problem, can somebody please help me out?

Try dling the Driver Update from Microsoft instead. Yep your not the only one, i had this problem too, so did my friend, we all dled the driver from microsoft and it worked, and theres about 4 ppl in this section with the same problem,can someone file a complaint to MS? i know the game is top notch quality, but it burned out 2 of my graphic cards, this is my third, so like cant they turn it down a notch?

unfortunatly u might have to get a grphics card
wich can cost anywere from 70-120$ plus a 30-40$ instalation

Well first Im gonna answer Torrents question, since you have a Dell (choosing correctly), if you would like you can always use Dell PC restore, It can make your PC/Laptop go back to the way it was when you opened it out of the box the day you got it, and #2, you either need a new graphics card, sometimes graphics cards can be too "old" to run certain games. Either than that I would try and get a new card, it would help to play.

I think i posted this some place but anyways....try going to display properties-->Settings-->Advance-->Troubleshoot--> adjust hardware accleration

This has been asked a lot, try searching next time.
Updating to the latest version of Direct X should fix it though.
